Sar Lubricants 2025 Year in review
Dave Mott – 23rd December 2025
As we reach the end of 2025, it’s remarkable to look back on how much the SAR team has achieved this year. From digital transformation and global expansion to major accreditations and community partnerships, 2025 has been a year of meaningful progress and long-term investment in our future.
Read on for a recap of the milestones that defined another successful year for SAR Lubricants.

A digital refresh: SAR Lubricants new website goes live
We began the year by launching our brand-new SAR lubricants website, a major step forward in accessibility, navigation, and customer support.
With clearer product pathways, improved technical information, and a streamlined user experience, the redesign strengthens the connection between our hands-on service and the convenience of online resources.
As Managing Director Dave Mott said at launch, the new site reflects our ambition to match the quality of our products with an equally high-quality digital experience. It’s a platform designed not only for today’s customers, but for the continued growth of the business.
New distribution partner for Turkey: SOMOIL
Our international reach grew even further with the addition of SOMOIL as our new distribution partner in Turkey.
Established in 1979, SOMOIL is an influential name in Turkey’s speciality lubricants space, and their partnership with SAR represents a shared commitment to technical expertise and high-performance products.
This collaboration positions us strongly within the Turkish textile and metalworking markets, supporting our ambition to deliver dependable, high-quality lubricant solutions across the world.
Proud new members of the BTMA
Another significant achievement this year was joining the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA) – a respected organisation representing the UK’s excellence in textile engineering, service and innovation.
Membership reflects decades of SAR’s experience supplying the textile industry with specialist solutions, and it reinforces our ongoing commitment to quality, reliability, and industry best practice.
With our deep heritage and continued investment in product development and technical support, being considered by the BTMA marks an important milestone in our long-standing contribution to the textile sector.
A new home for our laboratory
2025 also saw the relocation of our laboratory to a larger, purpose-designed facility.
The upgraded space offers extended capacity for research and development, improved workflow efficiency, and a safer, more collaborative environment for our technical teams. Its closeness to the blending facility strengthens day to day cooperation between laboratory and production staff, ensuring consistency, faster testing processes, and even higher standards across our operations.
Chris Stakes, Laboratory Manager said:
“This new laboratory gives our team the space and tools to take on a more complex projects and deliver even better results for our customers. It’s an exciting step forward for both our research capabilities and our collaboration with production.”
GOTS reaccreditation: continuing our commitment to global standards
We’re delighted to have maintained our accreditation with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) in 2025.
This reaccreditation acknowledges our adherence to rigorous environmental, social and quality criteria throughout the manufacture of our textile related products. With GOTS recognised globally as a benchmark for responsible textile production, renewing this status reinforces our dedication to ethical and environmentally conscious manufacturing.
Paired with the new BTMA membership, 2025 has been a milestone year for our presence within the textile industry.
Supporting local sport; sponsoring Emley AFC for 2025/26
We also strengthened our connection to our local community through the sponsorship of Emley AFC for the 2025/26 season.
After the club’s hard-earned return to the Northern Premier League, we’re proud to stand behind a team that embodies values we share; commitment, teamwork, consistency, and a determination to perform at the highest level.
SAR goes global, expanding across South East Asia
A major milestone this year was our first international export development trip to South East Asia, led by Global Export Manager, Pedro Lima.
Meeting with established partners and potential new distributors, the visit marked an exciting stage in our expansion strategy. South East Asia represents a dynamic and fast-growing region, and face-to-face engagement has already opened up new opportunities for collaboration.
Looking ahead
The coming year promises to be an exciting chapter for SAR Lubricants. With priorities including continuing investments in production capacity and technology, expanding sustainability initiatives, and introducing further product enhancements.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Layth Shaw as our new Sales Director. With over 20 years of experience in the lubricants industry, Layth will focus on strengthening customer partnerships, growing SAR’s presence in key UK and international markets and ensuring our technical expertise and product value are fully understood.
With these plans and a strengthened team, SAR Lubricants is well positioned for another year of growth, innovation, and success.
